Tooltech drives BMW
Tooltech speeds up process of redirecting work from Munich to India Office
The last quarter of 2006 saw Tooltech set up an office exclusively for BMW. The manner in which Tooltech gained the confidence of the client through implementation of a global delivery model, and followed it up by setting up a BMW project office in Pune with direct connectivity to BMW servers, truly sets it apart.
Role of BMW India Group
The BMW India Group has already participated in the BMW meshing and crash simulation projects. The group is now working on engine meshing and assembly projects for pedestrian safety analysis.
The Road Ahead
Tooltech aims at building a skilled and competent team. An aggressive recruitment strategy has seen it set up a brand new office to accommodate its growing employees, work and vision. The new office has been set up at Gamma 1, Gigaspace, Pune.
Tooltech spreads its Wings to Romania
Now a new delivery centre has been added to Tooltech's growing base - Tooltech Romania.
Tooltech recently acquired a 50% stake in Design Tech, a Romanian company, now renamed as Tooltech Romania. Setting up office here is in line with Tooltech's vision of providing customers with cost-effective solutions, by expanding base to more affordable destinations.
Tooltech Romania will aid in providing seamless solutions to clients, in tandem with Tooltech Deustschland, which mainly does work for BMW. In fact, the idea to expand operations in Romania was born out of BMW's thinking of increasingly undertaking body shell design workings in cost-effective regions.
While Germany provides high quality, Romania provides cost advantage. Hence clients such as BMW stand to gain on both fronts. The Tooltech Romania office will mainly focus on automotive engineering, with an independent set up for BMW.
Tiberiu Rus, Managing Director of Design Tech will continue to head the Tooltech Romania office, aided by 15 engineers as of now. The coming years will see a rapid expansion of the Romania office to benefit more clients.
