Building a Scalable Offshore Global Competency Center (GCC) for a Leading European Shipbuilding Company
- Our client approached us for a project, to setup a Global Competency Center for them
- This center was intended to scale up in size to 50-100 people in India, depending on the client orderbook/requirements.
The GCC was set up in three phases as below
Phase 1
Offshore Team Setup
Simulataeneous teams were built in India, mirroring the client’s structure across Hull/Ship Design, Interiors, HVAC, and Detail Design.
Phase 2
Onsite Knowledge Transfer
Engineers trained onsite at the client’s Scandinavian shipyard on tools, processes, and standards.
Phase 3
Ramp-Up
Offshore capacity scaled rapidly to 50–100 engineers, driven by demand and ongoing collaboration.
